How to find a parcel number from an address

In Slovakia, a parcel is identified by its katastrálne územie (cadastral area) and parcel number, for example „Ružinov 1234/5“. If you only know the address, you can find the parcel number directly on the map.

Step by step

  1. Open the cadastral map.
  2. Enter the address, for example „Obchodná 10, Bratislava“.
  3. The map moves to the address. Click on the land under or next to the building.
  4. The panel shows the parcel number, cadastral area, area and LV number.

Why an address is not enough

An address belongs to a building (its súpisné and orientačné číslo), not to a plot of land. One building can stand on several parcels, and one parcel can have several buildings on it. So when buying, always check the numbers of every parcel that belongs to the property, including the yard and the access road.

Súpisné and orientačné číslo

Súpisné číslo (registration number) is unique within the municipality and is recorded on the list vlastníctva (LV, ownership sheet). Orientačné číslo (street number) marks the building’s entrance on the street. Kataster24 shows both for each house, together with a list of flats by entrance and floor.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the cadastral area from an address?

Enter the address in the Kataster24 cadastral map. The name and code of the katastrálne územie (cadastral area) are shown next to the parcel.

Does one address always mean one parcel?

No. A building can stand on several parcels, and a house often also has a yard or garden on a separate parcel.
